Workers at Remington Take a Page from the History Books to Fight Covid-19
Remington Arms has a long history when it comes to global causes: It began manufacturing firearms for the U.S. government all the way back in 1845, and over its more than 150 years in business has shifted gears to address the comings and goings of wars here and abroad.
That’s a history its employees embrace and a driving factor in the pride they take in the firearms and ammunition they produce today. Now, those employees are taking that history, that ability to reallocate resources, by announcing that their 1-million-square-foot plant in Ilion, New York, would be made available for the production of ventilators, face masks and even hospital beds, as the U.S. and the world work to “flatten the curve” of COVID-19.
